SKF announces expansion of timing chain kits line

Nov. 15, 2024
The expansion brings the line's coverage up to 21,000 vehicle applications.

SKF Automotive announced the expansion of its timing chain kits in North America for domestic and import passenger vehicles and light trucks. With the expansion, the line now covers more than 21,000 vehicle applications ranging from 1965 to 2024.

The timing chain kits come with all necessary components for a complete engine timing chain replacement, including chains, guides, tensioners, sprockets, and — if applicable — oil jets, seals, fasteners, and gaskets.

The provided chains are made with heat-treated, high-strength steel designed to reduce abrasive wear and improve resistance to fatigue stress, while the guides are made with a heat-resistant polyamide for improved performance at high temperatures and increased wear resistance. The sprockets are heat-treated to harden contact surfaces with timing chains, and the VVT components are designed to increase fuel efficiency, eliminate rough idling, and improve overall system performance.
