Carrier Transicold of Detroit was named 2011 Dealer of the Year, and Honduras dealer Refrigeración y Transporte, S.A. de C.V. (Refri-Trans) was named Latin America Dealer of the Year at the Carrier Transicold Truck/Trailer/Rail Americas annual dealer meeting held recently in Tucson, Ariz. Carrier Transicold helps improve global transport and shipping temperature control with a complete line of equipment for refrigerated trucks, trailers and containers, and is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.
Hundreds of dealer representatives from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, Brazil and Venezuela gathered for the meeting, which celebrated "The 'Next' Greatest Generation" of Carrier Transicold dealers. It was an especially appropriate theme for Carrier Transicold of Detroit's president, Mark Sparkman, who as the son and nephew of his dealership's co-founders is a second generation dealer.
"Carrier Transicold of Detroit's performance really set them apart," said Tom Spencer, Carrier Transicold dealer network manager. "They not only had a great year, exceeding all performance metrics, but they have achieved strong market presence and customer loyalty. In 2011, this organization demonstrated professionalism, commitment, passion and focus on their customers, which resulted in another year of strong performance."
Achieving its fifth Dealer of the Year award also coincides with the 45th anniversary of the Lincoln Park, Mich.-based dealership, which additionally attained Carrier Transicold's NextLevel2 Platinum Award, recognizing achievements for sales, service, customer focus, growth and investment in the business, as well as the company's Quota Buster award for exceeding sales goals.
Refri-Trans earned its first Latin America Dealer of the Year award. A Carrier Transicold dealer since 1990, Refri-Trans serves Honduras from its headquarters in San Pedro Sula.
"Refri-Trans' success comes from its employees, who consistently provide extraordinary service for their customers," said Jesús Estrada, managing director, Carrier Transicold Latin America. For 2011, Refri-Trans also received Carrier Transicold's NextLevel2 Perfect Score award as well as a Quota Buster award.
At the Carrier Transicold dealer meeting a total of 51 dealerships received 84 awards for 2011 performance and business investment.
Additionally, individual recognition went to Steve Johnson of Carrier Transicold South in Lake City, Ga., who was named Dealer Sales Manager of the Year; Randy Shoeman of Quality Services in Des Moines, Iowa, named Dealer Service Manager of the Year; and Mike Maestas of CT Power in Commerce City, Col., Dealer Parts Manager of the Year.
