Wilsons Fuel Company brings the Alliance complete program to Atlantic Canada, including Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador, helping more Canadian fleets than ever run on affordable propane autogas.

Alliance AutoGas added a new Canadian partner, Wilsons Fuel Company Ltd., to their expanding international clean vehicle fueling and conversion network. Wilsons brings the Alliance complete program to Atlantic Canada, including Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador, helping more Canadian fleets than ever run on affordable propane autogas.

"We joined Alliance AutoGas because it is the world's most reliable program to help fleets switch to autogas," says Gary Highfield, general manager at Wilsons. "Autogas is the most viable fuel on the market for fleets because it's clean, it costs less than gasoline and installing autogas fueling stations is not expensive. As an Alliance partner, we're now able to help fleets throughout Atlantic Canada start saving on fuel costs right away by running vehicles on autogas."

The Alliance complete program guides fleets through every aspect of switching to autogas, including vehicle conversions, fueling, on-site fuel station installation, data integration, training and ongoing technical support. The Alliance AutoGas partner network of propane marketers and conversion centers is experiencing tremendous growth, now spanning 40 states, Washington D.C., and the Canadian provinces of Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba,  Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador.

Propane autogas is the most widely used alternative fuel worldwide, powering 18 million vehicles globally. Autogas fleets currently save around $1.50 per gallon on fuel compared to gasoline; and because propane autogas is a cleaner fuel, they're also improving air quality in their local communities.

"The addition of Canadian partners like Wilsons plays a key role in the continuing international expansion of the Alliance AutoGas network," says Stuart Weidie, president of Alliance AutoGas and founder of Autogas for America. "It only makes sense that such a well-established company, which generations of customers have come to know and trust, now provides local fleets with the most affordable, dependable transportation fuel on the market."

Established in 1909 and family owned for three generations, Wilsons began as a coal delivery company, before transitioning to propane and heating oil, gasoline, heating equipment and even security systems. Wilsons Home Heating serves a 200 kilometer radius in Nova Scotia with three locations in Lower Sackville near Halifax, Bridgewater (Wileville) and Truro. As an Alliance AutoGas partner, Wilsons provides fleets across Atlantic Canada with autogas fueling and vehicle conversions. Wilsons Fuel Co. Ltd. has been recognized as one of "Canada's Fifty Best Managed Companies" by the Financial Post, and makes charitable donations to give back to the communities they serve.
