Global vehicle sales expected to improve following economic downturn.

The major automobile manufacturers are introducing passenger cars with driver assistance systems to produce safe, high performing, and eco-friendly models. The key manufacturers of driver assistance system such as Continental (Germany), Robert Bosch (Germany), Denso (Japan), Valeo (France), etc. are investing on their R&D and production facility to meet the increasing demand of the driver assistance systems in the automobile production market.

The global driver assistance system market is expected to reach 108.6 million units by 2018; Europe is estimated to lead the market followed by North America and Asia-Pacific.

As of 2012, the global market for driver assistance systems was dominated by the key players such as Continental AG (Germany), Robert Bosch GmbH (Germany), Denso Corporation (Japan), Magna International (Canada), and Valeo (France). These five key players together held about 70% of the total market in 2012. Continental AG is the market leader with 19 percent share. It is followed by Robert Bosch, Denso, Magna, and Valeo.
