Morgan Corp. expands its line of protection devices for truck bodies

Oct. 10, 2017
Products include side- and rear-steps, plastic toolboxes and side-guard protection.

Morgan Corporation announced the introduction of improved side- and rear-steps, plastic toolboxes, and side-guard protection devices for truck bodies.“Whether it is to extend the life of your truck body or to promote the safety of pedestrians and drivers, Morgan Corporation is dedicated to offering innovative products that do just that!” states Paul Jarossy, Director of Marketing and New Business Development for Morgan. “The new side- and rear-step designs, as well as the durable plastic toolboxes that resist denting, are lighter than traditional metal toolboxes, and are sealed to prevent water intrusion; these are just a few more ways that Morgan is always improving its market-leading offer.”

The importance of side guard protection in North America, especially in many of the major urban areas, is steadily increasing, according to Dr. Alex Epstein, Engineer, Volpe Center (U.S. DOT):

“As part of U.S. DOT’s duty to disseminate research results through the technology transfer process, we engage stakeholders to increase their awareness of technologies that can potentially improve the safety of pedestrians, bicyclists, and others who share the road with large trucks in urban areas. Truck side guards for vulnerable road users are devices intended to sweep aside pedestrians and bicyclists in side-impact crashes, instead of being swept underneath the vehicle. Side guards are one of a number of truck safety features that can help save lives, particularly in urban areas. Today, these devices are required in 47 countries.  Over the last five years, a growing number of U.S. cities and commercial insurers have also begun requiring or encouraging their use.”
