Jacobs Vehicles Systems earns PACCAR 10 PPM award

July 24, 2019
The 10 PPM quality standard requires delivery of no more than 10 defective parts for every million components supplied.

Jacobs Vehicle Systems, a worldwide manufacturer of diesel engine retarding and valve actuation systems, was recently recognized by PACCAR for meeting or exceeding the company’s 10 PPM quality standard, which stands for delivering no more than 10 defective parts for every million components supplied. Jacobs and other award winners also were required to meet demanding criteria for delivery performance, customer support, warranties, and business impact.

Jacobs supplies the global truck maker with engine braking solutions for PACCAR’s 13-liter and 11-liter diesel engines in manufacturing facilities in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, Ponta Grossa, Brazil, and Columbus, Mississippi. This year, PACCAR recognized 337 suppliers in 26 countries on four continents with the 10 PPM award.

“The PACCAR 10 PPM award is widely regarded as one of the most demanding and rigorous quality awards from an original equipment manufacturer,” said Dave Biron, director, quality and reliability for Jacobs Vehicle Systems. “Jacobs has been partnering with PACCAR for almost 20 years, and very much grateful to be contributing to the making of their commercial trucks that are widely viewed as is one of the industry’s highest quality vehicles.”
