Web-based document management company eBridge Solutions has released eBridge Solutions 4.0 for automotive-industry professionals.

The new program allows users to scan, store and retrieve documents using any computer with Internet access. Documents are scanned in and labeled using up to seven unique index values that are defined by the business. Users can retrieve documents using those index values or search by keyword (like customer name, vehicle type, part or VIN number). Files are stored indefinitely on eBridge Solutions’ network, the company states.

New features in 4.0 include a new scanner wizard, enhanced TIFF viewer, improved optical character recognition (OCR) and even greater data encryption. The company says that eBridge Solutions 4.0 will help professionals in the auto industry:
Better organize files, increasing staff productivity and efficiency.
Link multiple locations by having one centralized file cabinet.
Save money on paper, ink and office supplies.
Eliminate the need for files and file cabinets and off-site storage.
Improve compliance with record retention regulations.

“Files were the ‘white elephant’ in our office. They were everywhere. With eBridge Solutions, we were able to eliminate clutter and free up space for additional offices,” says one used car dealer in Tampa, Fla. “A surprise benefit is being able to retrieve files from anywhere. We now have instant access to everything we need to finalize a sale.”

“We felt the time was right to introduce eBridge Solutions to automotive professionals who are embracing technology to combat today’s rising costs,” explains Leslie Haywood, CEO of eBridge Solutions. “Our web-based document management service will provide the flexibility and scalability for automotive dealerships and related businesses of any size to manage their tremendous volumes of paperwork.”
