The Automotive Service Association (ASA) announces a new benefit through Cintas and its Document Management Division. The Confidential Document Destruction Services program delivers the valuable benefit of a cost-effective, secure and compliant document-shredding solution to all ASA members.

The government is increasing its enforcement of data privacy laws and making protection against consumer fraud a priority. The security of sensitive customer, employee and business information is a requirement and should be a critical part of any document management program to mitigate risks associated with identity theft, loss of confidential documents, misuse of sensitive information, and noncompliance with privacy laws.

“The Cintas Document Shredding program provides ASA members with a secure way to shred sensitive documents and provide operational security for their business,” says John Scully, ASA’s executive vice president. “ASA is fortunate to be able to provide to our members this additional service, which meets the highest standards of the National Association for Information Destruction.”

The ASA/Cintas program is set up under a national account pricing structure, resulting in reduced costs for ASA members. Cintas security consultants will help ASA members establish a safe and secure document shredding program that is customized to their specific business needs – irrespective of the size of the organization.

“Cintas already helps a number of ASA members meet their confidential document destruction requirements,” says Rick Taibl, ASA’s Cintas global account manager. “Our company is excited about the opportunity to expand our ASA relationships while helping more members meet the many and complex state and federal compliance requirements they are faced with. Our solution simply takes one more concern off the table, so they can focus on the running of their businesses.”

Cintas’ Document Management Division has numerous secure document destruction operations throughout the United States. In August 2008, Cintas became the first company to be nationally AAA certified by the National Association of Information Destruction (NAID). This certification (recommended as a vendor selection criteria by the Federal Trade Commission) ensures Cintas’ compliance with the stringent security practices and procedures established by NAID and the payment card industry, allowing consistency across all Cintas document destruction locations.

In addition to the new document shredding program, Cintas provides ASA members with a first aid and safety program, as well as a uniform rental program and discounts on purchased business apparel.
