The American Petroleum Institute (API) has announced that Universal Lubricants, a 16-location motor oil distributor headquartered in Wichita, KS, has been recognized by the Motor Oil Matters (MOM) program with a certification renewal for its continued excellence in providing only the highest quality product to motor oil installers across the Midwest.
“MOM makes it its mission to safeguard that consumers are receiving only the best quality motor oil in their vehicles, and, in the end, much of this depends on the middle man – the distributor,” says Kevin Ferrick, API’s Engine Oil Licensing and Certification System manager. “The MOM certification renewal acts as a confirmation that Universal Lubricants has again validated their aptitude for ensuring that their oils are labeled, delivered and represented exactly as they should be, every time.”
Universal Lubricants has been with the Motor Oil Matters program since its inception, having participated in the pilot program and then signing up once the program launched. After demonstrating that Universal Lubricants has continued to meet all of the API chain-of-custody standards, the company has once again earned the right to be known as a MOM-certified motor oil distributor.
“Since 1929, our company has maintained a level of quality and performance that allows our products to excel in the most severe applications,” says Mike Wyant, manager of Technical Services for Universal Lubricants. “The MOM program is another avenue to assure our level of performance and a means to raise the bar for our competitors as our company continues to strive to build superior performance products that meet or exceed industry and OEM standards.”
