California Tech Named As August Winner!

Sept. 3, 2020

Congratulations to Michael Johnsont out in Campbell, California! He's the winner of our August ASE Question of the Month random prize drawing, sponsored by Federated Auto Parts.

And all he had to do was try answeriing our monthly ASE-style question!

What was August's question you ask?

The July Trainer discussed the importance of inspecting the accessory drive system; the serpentine belt, belt tensioner AND one part that is commonly overlooked - the Overrunning Alternator Pulley.

Do you know how to test the OAP? Let's see!

Technician A says that, with the belt removed, you should be able to hold the inner ring and then rotate the outer ring in both directions. The outer ring should move freely. Technician B says that, with the belt removed, the outer ring should not move when rotated in the normal direction of rotation and should rotate smoothly when rotated in the opposite direction.

Who is correct?

A.  Technician A

B.  Technician B

C.  Both A and B

D.  Neither A nor B

What would your answer have been? You should have taken the quiz to see!

No problem, though, you can take September's quiz and automatically be entered into our next random drawing! The winner recieves a collectible diecast from Federated.

What are you waiting for! Answer the current quiz!
