Johnson Controls Inc. has expanded its Optima Batteries Article lineup to fit more vehicles. The Optima Yellowtop was introduced at the 2017 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas.
“Our existing batteries are very much an enthusiast market because so much is a custom fitment,” spokeswoman Stephanie Shambo told Modern Tire Dealer at the show. “This new battery opens the door to people who might be happy with their stock battery for a European car or a 5th- Gen Camaro, for example, but are looking for a little more power and performance.”
The new Optima Yellowtop will be available for purchase in the spring of 2018 in DIN group sizes H6 and H7.
The company says the new Yellowtop sizes will allow a variety of modern vehicles, ranging from late-model domestic performance to European models, to experience the power and performance of Optima batteries.
The Optima Yellowtop features a new DIN-specific design that delivers robust power, extreme recharge and unsurpassed performance. The company says it spent several years perfecting the new battery, which was put through rigorous tesing in the lab and in the field.
