With a theme of “Confidence, Cooperation and Consistency,” Federated Auto Parts held its annual national meeting April 27-30 at the Caribe Royale Hotel and Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. Federated members and their manufacturing partners were on hand for three days of informative meetings and seminars as well as Federated’s annual awards dinner.
“We just concluded a very successful national meeting,” says Rusty Bishop, CEO of Federated Auto Parts. “I want to thank all of our members who attended. We realize they took time away from their own businesses to come to Orlando and we are very appreciative of their support. A special thanks to our manufacturing partners who were on hand to meet with our members in a formal, and sometimes informal, setting. It was a productive meeting for everyone involved.”
As part of the agenda, several manufacturers made presentations to the Federated membership and members attended meetings on such topics as information technology, marketing and the Federated Car Care program. In addition, the Co-Man Council and the Federated Board of Governors convened. A highlight was the keynote address given by José Maria Alapont, president and chief executive officer, Federal-Mogul Corp.
“We want to thank Mr. Alapont for delivering such an interesting and informative keynote address,” said Bishop. “It was great to hear the thoughts of one of the leading figures in our industry and it was very encouraging to learn of his optimistic outlook for the aftermarket. Federated and Federal-Mogul have an excellent relationship that has grown under Mr. Alapont’s leadership.”
Another highlight of the meeting was Federated’s annual awards dinner held April 28. Several Federated members were honored for their outstanding service and commitment to the organization. In addition, many of Federated’s manufacturing partners were recognized, most notably Federal-Mogul, which received Outstanding Vendor of the Year.
“We want to congratulate all of our award recipients for helping make 2010 another strong year for Federated,” continued Bishop. “Our awards dinner is a great time to thank our members and suppliers for their hard work and loyalty. We also took time out at the dinner to remember those who had been affected by the severe storms that hit the southeast. The thoughts and prayers of the entire Federated family are with those impacted by this terrible natural disaster.”
