Tracer Articles, a division of Spectronics Corp., has unveiled a cordless, rechargeable, true UV (violet light) LED leak detection flashlight. The Tracerline TP-8655 Opti-Pro Plus emits less visible light, making leaks clearer and easier to spot.

The company says the Opti-Pro Plus is engineered with a high-output violet light LED that provides optimal fluorescent dye response and contrast. This ensures that each and every leak glows brilliantly. The flashlight works with all Tracerline universal/ester and PAG A/C dyes, as well as TP-3400, TP-3405, TP-3900 and TP-3940 fluid dyes.

The Opti-Pro Plus has an inspection range of 20 feet (6.1 m) or more. The company says the lightweight and compact body can easily get into tight, cramped areas that larger lamps cannot. The flashlight’s rugged, corrosion-resistant, anodized aluminum body stands up to years of heavy shop use. With power comparable to high-intensity 125-watt lamps, it provides four hours of continuous inspection between charges. The unit has a 100,000-hour LED service life.

The Opti-Pro Plus features convenient on-board charging and is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery (included). The flashlight also comes with a lanyard, smart AC charger and fluorescence-enhancing glasses.
