Ford Motor Co. announced it will maintain it pro-rated battery warranty and family pricing structures for its Motorcraft batteries. The company says the after parts industry as a whole is moving in the opposite direction.

The Motorcraft Tested Tough Max battery carries a 100-month pro-rated warranty and free replacement for 36 months, while Motorcraft Tested Tough Plus batteries have an 84-month pro-rated warranty and free replacement for up to 18 months. Ford says most competitors offer a flat 36-month warranty, with some offering coverage for 12 months.

“While the price point for batteries of different group sizes from competitors can be all over the map, Motorcraft offers a family pricing structure that gives installers confidence and stability when counseling customers,” says Robert Boss, maintenance marketing manager.
