In a letter addressed to Cornwell Tools customers, distributors, and suppliers, Bob Studenic, president and CEO of Cornwell Quality Tools, announced that operations at the company’s Wadsworth distribution center will resume beginning March 30. The letter read as follows:
Based on careful review of the Ohio Department of Health, Director Amy Acton’s Stay at Home Order, examining what has been determined as an essential business, we have made the decision to resume operation of the Wadsworth distribution center beginning Monday, March 30, with limited staff.
According to the Order, a distribution center is deemed essential to keeping infrastructure moving, especially as it pertains to the automotive industry. We realize the closure of a distribution center has a profound impact on our business, as well as our independent franchised dealers. We hope in reopening the distribution center we continue to provide our franchised dealer force with products necessary for them to continue to run their business as best they can, during the COVID-19 outbreak.
The corporate office will remain closed for the majority of our associates until Monday, April 6. Some associates, as deemed necessary, will be allowed into the building prior to that date. If at any point we are in violation of the state of Ohio mandate, or they request that we close our buildings, we will do so promptly.
The Utah warehouse is currently open and operating normally. Manufacturing operations at Van Wert and Mogadore remain closed at this time.
For our Cornwell Dealers, please place your orders through IBN whenever possible as customer service is not fully staffed. If you need to contact customer service, your best option is via email: [email protected]. You may experience a significant delay in response time. As a reminder, you are able to check stock status and find set components and parts in IBN. The temporary extended Deferred and CBX terms will remain in effect until further notice.
For our valued suppliers, we will begin receiving shipments at our Wadsworth distribution center on Monday, March 30. Our purchasing department continues to process drop ship orders.
We want to reiterate that we deeply care for the health and safety of all employees. We continue to closely monitor the CDC and the Ohio Department of Health recommendations for containment and we are evaluating business practices to ensure the safety of our employees.
During these unprecedented times, we at Cornwell thank you for your continued patience and understanding. Stay safe!
Best regards,
Bob Studenic
