Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E vehicles due to an overheated high voltage battery contactor potentially causing the vehicle to lose driver power, therefore increasing the risk of a crash. According to theNational Highway Traffic Safety Administration(NHTSA) around 48,924 vehicles may be affected.
To remedy this, dealers will update the on-board software, free of charge, notes NHTSA. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on July 18, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S41.
