The Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA), the commercial vehicle division of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), and event partner MacKay & Company, announced that Ann Wilson, senior vice president of government affairs at MEMA, and Chris Spear, president and CEO at American Trucking Associations (ATA), will speak at the Trade Policy & Impact on the Industry session at the 8th annual Heavy Duty Aftermarket Dialogue (HDAD) conference.
In the Trade Policy & Impacts on the Industry session, Wilson will provide her expert insight on the commercial vehicle industry, including hidden challenges and opportunities, and the potential impacts of USMCA and China Section 301 tariffs. The USMCA presentation will cover the agreement’s ratification, progression, rules of origin with timeline, regulations, and requirements. Wilson will then provide attendees with a China Section 301 tariff update that will examine the history of Lists 1, 2, and 3 and what to expect in the future.
The session will conclude with a trade issue conversation between Wilson and Spear, where they will exchange questions amongst themselves and members of the audience.
HDAD will be held January 27, 2020 from 7 AM – 5 PM in the Texas Ballroom at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Conference Center in Grapevine, Texas. The conference is co-presented by HDMA and MacKay & Company and will immediately precede Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) 2020.
