Popular general sessions return
AAPEX will again offer two free general sessions to help attendees stay ahead of the curve and prepare for the future. Both events will take place from 11 a.m. to noon on their respective days in The Venetian, Marco Polo 701. Registration is not required.
1. 5 Automotive Trends Impacting the North American Aftermarket
From the ever-changing new vehicle market to the aging of the fleet, the automotive aftermarket continues to evolve. On Nov. 1, Todd Campau, associate director, Aftermarket Solutions at S&P Global Mobility (formerly IHS Markit), will cover how new vehicle trends are impacting aftermarket repair opportunities faster than ever before.
2. Aftermarket Outlook 2023
Then on Nov. 2, Nathan Shipley, executive director and industry analyst for The NPD Group’s Automotive Aftermarket division, will cover the trends observed both in general retail and the aftermarket over the last two years and why understanding what drove sales performance during that time is critical for predicting what the near-term future might look like for the industry. The presentation will also provide perspective on how macro trends – both industry specific and more general in nature – might play into future results.
Attend an ATSG training session
For the first time, attendees can join a training by the Automatic Transmission Service Group (ATSG). Both trainings will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on their respective days in the new Transmission Supplier Section, Level 1, The Venetian Expo.
Attendees already registered for AAPEX may add these training sessions by accessing their online registration portal. New registrations may select the ATSG training sessions when completing the registration process. The cost per session is $125.
1. Is it the Transmission or not?
On Nov. 1, Wayne Colonna, ATSG president/ETE REMAN director of quality, will cover transmission malfunctions and perceived malfunctions caused by “out-of-the-box” system failures. The information will be presented in ATSG’s detailed Complaint, Cause and Correction format covering both passenger cars and medium duty trucks. Diagnostic tips and tricks will be included, as well as pertinent information on various CVT and DCT transmissions needed for proper diagnostics.
2. Best of ATSG’s 2022 Confirmed Transmission Fixes
On Nov. 2, Rino Partipilo, ATSG technical advisor, will present on various vehicles experiencing problems originating from issues within the transmission and how to diagnose them. These transmissions were experiencing symptoms that stumped professional technicians, so they turned to ATSG’s technical hotline for assistance. Partipilo will share the most recently learned confirmed fixes that were gathered by being on the front line of the ATSG Technical Hotline.
