Jaguar Says This Cat Has a Rattle

This bulletin applies to 2018 Jaguar E-PACE, F-PACE, F-TYPE, XE and XF vehicles, equipped with a 2.0L gasoline engine. A rattle noise may be evident from the engine compartment and/or the MIL may be illuminated. DTCs P052A-00, P0011-71 and/or P000A-00 may be found stored in the PCM.

This may be caused by a variable camshaft timing (VCT) unit internal seal that is below specification. Replace the VCT unit. Parts required include the following:

Intake camshaft VCT unit...JDE38702

Timing cover gasket.......... JDE38617

O-ring (2)........................... T4N19140

Timing chain tensioner..... JDE38696

VCT bolt............................ JDE38679

Timing cover plug............ JDE38603

Sealant............................. STC50550

Coolant............................ JLM209723
