It’s time to nominate the next Best Young Tech

Motor Age is looking for the next sharp, young automotive technician who will earn the title of Best Young Tech.

Nominations are open for the 2025 Best Young Tech Award, presented by Motor Age. We’re looking for bright technicians between the ages of 21 and 35 who are moving the industry forward and are passionate about their work.

Candidates can nominate themselves, or be nominated by someone else.

Qualifications to be considered for Best Young Tech:

  • Technicians must be between the ages of 21 and 35.
  • Candidates must have at least two years of professional industry experience.
  • Technicians must be ASE-certified
  • Candidates should show evidence of career development, innovation in their role, technical or educational achievements, community service, and/or importance in the shop where they work.

A panel of industry professionals will judge all candidates.

The grand prize winner will receive:

  • A feature profile story in the October issue of Motor Age magazine
  • A trip to the 2025 AAPEX and SEMA Show in Las Vegas
  • Presentation of the Best Young Tech Award at AAPEX
  • Tool and equipment prizes from the contest sponsors
  • An award plaque and uniform patch
