Tech Tip: Remote-controlled lifts can increase heavy-duty shop productivity

The remote lets a single technician operate the lift while walking around the vehicle and bay, instead of two technicians.
In some shops, especially those servicing buses or other long vehicles, two technicians often work together to operate a lift — one to run the lift and the other to walk around the bay and check that everything is going smoothly. Remote-controlled lifts allow a single technician to operate all of a lift’s features while walking around the vehicle and the bay, maximizing shop productivity and visibility of the vehicle during operation.
Rotary’s Mach Flex powered by RedFire wireless mobile column lifting system, for example, puts the ability to lift more than 150,000 pounds right in the technicians’ hands with a remote control. The Flex remote control features a simple joystick for up and down (two speeds) movement, as well as a lower-to-locks button.
