What is the best full-flow filter for MACK Trucks with ai-350 engines?

Aug. 10, 2010

Q: I run MACK Trucks with ai-350 engines. What is the best full-flow filter on the market to catch all the soot that engine makes?

A: There are many full flow filter constructions on the market today and to choose the best with extensive laboratory testing would only be a guess. I will tell you though that Mack has two full flow constructions for their primary engines and they are part numbers 485GP3191 and 485GB3236.

485GP3191 is the original construction for Mack engine applications and 485GB3236 was added a few years ago and uses a premium filter media which is intended to provide better filter performance for EGR engines. Most aftermarket filter manufacturers have a replacements to both versions.
