Feb. 12, 2021
Performing battery testing and replacement works for your shop – and customers.

If you’re looking for an easy way to take care of your customers and your shop’s bottom line, there’s one place to check.

The battery.

According to industry research, about one out of every three vehicles you see in your shop needs a battery. For those customers who do need a new battery, nearly half of them will approve the purchase right away.

Recommending the change can really put you and the rest of your shop in a great light because you’re clearly looking out for the customer’s safety and convenience. But if you’re going to perform this service, there are some important steps you must take to ensure the battery replacement is done right.

Pete Meier, Motor Age’s director of training, walks you through all of those steps in his new Tech Tips video, Preventing Battery Woes – Proper Testing And Selection Tips. Featuring information from Duralast, Pete showcases not only how to test the battery but also exactly why it’s imperative that new battery matches OE.

For example, did you know not only do you need to note the group size and cold cranking amperage as well as the type of battery construction? Whether you did nor not, there is a lot of info you can take away from Pete’s new Tech Tips.

The tips you’ll learn in this short video can make this service possible, successful and profitable. Click to watch now
