CRC announces the acquisition of Chemfree Corporation

CRC Industries produces specialty chemicals for maintenance, repair and operational professionals within the automotive, heavy duty truck, marine, electrical, industrial, hardware and aviation markets.

CRC Industries, Inc. announces the acquisition of ChemFree Corporation located in Norcross, Ga., a subsidiary of Intelligent Systems Corporation.

CRC Industries produces specialty chemicals for maintenance, repair and operational professionals within the automotive, heavy duty truck, marine, electrical, industrial, hardware and aviation markets.

ChemFree Corporation manufactures the SmartWasher Bio Remediating Parts Washing System, providing an alternative method for cleaning vehicle and maintenance parts without harming humans or the environment. The SmartWasher system consists of the SmartWasher parts washer, OzzyJuice Degreasing Solutions and OzzyMats, which are microbe impregnated filters. The ChemFree Smartwasher product line is distributed in more than 40 countries and marketed under multiple patents.

The SmartWasher system eliminates or dramatically reduces waste streams, as well as the expense of hazardous waste removal and associated liabilities. Combining the ChemFree product line and CRC’s broad specialty chemical platform will create superior performance and enhanced environmental responsibility, as well as new product growth opportunities.

Tom McNally will continue as vice president and general manager of the ChemFree business. The manufacturing, sales, customer service, distribution and administration offices will remain headquartered in Norcross, GA and will report directly to Wayne King, president - CRC Americas Group.
