Gray Manufacturing Company, Inc., a company specializing in manufacturing and selling portable lifting equipment for use by professional mechanics, announced that it has filed a new patent infringement lawsuit against French company Sefac S.A. and its U.S. distributor Sefac U.S.A. Inc. in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. In the lawsuit, Gray Manufacturing alleges that SW2.2 wireless mobile column lift systems manufactured by Sefac S.A. and distributed in the U.S. by Sefac U.S.A and the use of those lift systems by customers infringe U.S. Patent No. 10,214,403.
“We filed the lawsuit shortly after our latest patent issued on February 26, 2019, and it supplements the prior lawsuit we brought against Sefac USA on October 17, 2017,” said Sterett “Stet” Schanze, president of Gray Manufacturing. “That prior lawsuit remains pending and involves earlier patents asserted against the SW2.2 lifts. Our patents are the result of substantial investments in research and development. We have an obligation to our customers, our stakeholders and our existing licensees to continue to enforce these important patent rights as new patents issue. Purchasers of the SW2.2 lifts and systems should be aware of our desire to identify and bring suit against anyone who uses the SW2.2 mobile column lifts and systems in violation of our developing patent rights.”
