Q: How did the tool/equipment function as far as saving you time?
A: This tool saved me time by allowing me to more efficiently remove seized fasteners that would have taken me longer via other methods.
Q: How has using this tool impacted your shop's profitability?
A: This tool allowed me to remove seized fasteners in a more timely manner, which in turn allowed me to finish jobs quicker.
Q: What kind of setup was involved before using the product?
A: Set up involved selecting the correct bit for the correct application, loading it in the hand impact driver (or cordless impact driver in the case of the stepped screw-removing bit) and selecting a ball peen hammer to strike the tool with.
Q: How easy was it to use?
A: This tool was straightforward to use. If one knows how to use a screwdriver and a hammer, then the operation of this impact screwdriver is a no-brainer.
Q: How was its packaging? Did it come with any accessories?
A: The packaging was well thought out. The impact driver and bits came in a Velcro pouch. The set included +2, +3, SL6, SL7, T25, and T30 bits plus a stepped screw removing bit for #2 screws.
Q: Was there a manual included? If so, did you use the manual, and was the manual easy to understand?
A: Yes, a short guide was included, and I used it to gain an understanding of proper operation before my first use of the tool.
Q: What features did you like?
A: I like the ergonomic handle of the impact driver, although I do wish it were a little longer to fit in the hand better, while avoiding finger contact with the hammer blows.
Q: Is there any way you could think to improve or add to this tool?
A: Including more striking bit sizes would be useful. Including some SAE/metric hex sizes and more Torx bits would be a welcome improvement.
Q: What types of jobs/repairs did you use this tool for?
A: I used this tool to remove seized license plate screws from a few trade-in vehicles. Normally, in these instances, I would resort to an air cut-off tool. I could also see this being useful for brake rotor fasteners, although at the time of this review, I have not had the opportunity to try it on that application.
Q: How does this tool compare to other tools you've used like it?
A: I have not previously owned a hand impact driver.
Q: On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate this tool overall? Why?
A: I would rate the impact driver and bits a 9.5. It functions well, saving me time and headaches. This tool will make you wonder how you ever got by without it. The design and features leave little to be desired.
