Optronics introduces new Uni-Lite LED Clearance/Marker Lamp

New optical diffusion technology gives Uni-Lite clearance/marker lamps “extraordinary” luminescence.

Optronics International, a premier worldwide manufacturer and supplier of branded industrial and commercial vehicular safety lighting products, has introduced its new Uni-Lite LED clearance/marker lamps.

The lamps were shown for the first time on trailers at Vanguard National Trailer Corporation's booth at the recent Mid-America Trucking Show.

The small, 3/4" lamps employ Optronics' new GloLight optics, making them appear deceptively bright for their size.

The small, 3/4" small clearance/marker lamps and 4" round stop/tail/turn lamps employ Optronics' new GloLight optical diffusion technology that make them appear deceptively bright for their size.

Most LED lamps have hotspots or patterns of bright light that make up their common visual signature, according to Marcus Hester, director of sales and marketing for Optronics. GloLight lamps are visually distinctive from other LED lamps because their lenses disperse light waves in a unique way that gives them a smooth, brightly glowing appearance.

"The GloLight optical technology is so different," he points out. "The new version of our Uni-Lite represents just one of 35 new GloLight products Optronics has in its pipeline."

The new Uni-Lite clearance/marker lamps come in red and amber. The red Uni-Lite lamps are designed with dual-function capabilities for applications such as high-mount stop and turn.

The lamps are available in P2- and PC-rated versions, enabling them to meet the photometric requirements for a full range of applications.

The 12V lamps come with a lifetime warranty, and lenses and housings are made of durable polycarbonate material that is completely waterproof.

Optronics is committed to designing and manufacturing corrosion-resistant LED lighting products, says Hester, and like 80 percent of Optronics' entire LED product line, the new Uni-Lite LED lamps are produced using solid-state, surface-mount device (SMD) technology.

LED lamps with the advantage of SMD are so robust, they can continue to function even if their circuit board is completely submerged in water, he notes.

The new Uni-Lite also addresses the issue of dimming.

Some brands of 3/4" clearance/marker lamps have been known to dim as they age, says Hester. Heat due to overpowering and the presence of a characteristic caused by a vehicle's own electrical system can cause a reduction in brightness and functionality.

"Our Uni-Lite three-quarter-inch clearance/marker lamps are designed with precise power and heat management properties and rectifier diodes that protect the LEDs from electronic degradation," he says. "These lamps won't lose that bright GloLight glow that everyone's talking about."

Uni-Lite 3/4" clearance/marker lamps include: single-function red MCL121RB, single-function amber MCL121AB, dual-function red MCL121R9B and dual-function three-lamp cluster red MCL122RK3B.

The lamps are available with two-wire design including both lead wire and ground wire for mounting to all surfaces.

The red and amber lamps will be available for purchase as individual unit or in a kit with a PVC grommet.
