Zonar and the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) announced the winners of a jointly sponsored $50,000 grant to contribute to the improved safety, effectiveness and efficiency of the Pupil Transportation program in the United States.

Dedicated to providing safe and secure transportation for students, Zonar and NAPT offer the grant each year to provide school districts the opportunity to equip their busses with Zonar’s fleet management solutions. The $50,000 capital acquisition grant is used to outfit school buses with a mix of Zonar’s patented and highly acclaimed technologies:

Electronic Vehicle Inspection Report (EVIR)The only verified visual trip inspection system available.

V2J High-Definition GPSNext generation GPS and remote vehicle diagnostics platform.

ZPass Ridership Tracking - RFID card-based system provides real-time student rider tracking.

With the Zonar technologies, district transportation departments are able to operate more safely and efficiently by automating and verifying vehicle inspections, ensuring completion of child checks and monitoring bus activity, health and performance – all in real-time via any device with an Internet connection.

"In past years this joint grant was made available to only one winner, but because of both the number of entries and the very compelling and persuasive cases put forth by the proposals this year, we decided to award the grant to eight deserving districts," said Chris Oliver, Zonar’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

The winners of the 2011 NAPT and Zonar Grant were announced at the 2011 Annual NAPT Summit in Cincinnati, OH.  The winning districts include:
