Improving balancing quality and profitability in the overhaul of turbochargers

Schenck Trebel Corporation introduces its TB series of equipment built to improve balancing quality, efficiency and profitability in the overhaul of turbochargers

Industry forecasters indicate that the number of commercial and passenger vehicles equipped with turbochargers will account for 3.2 million of the total vehicles produced in 2012; up from 2.2 million in 2011. Anyone delving into the business of turbocharger overhaul will benefit from this rapidly growing market.

Defective turbochargers are usually replaced with new ones, but with the right know-how and suitable equipment, turbochargers can be repaired to as-new condition. Schenck Trebel's TB series machines give a second life to turbochargers.

"The little devices, which use otherwise wasted exhaust gases to help engines breath better, increasing performance and fuel economy, will show up in an estimated 3.2 million new vehicles this year, according to Honeywell Turbo Technologies. That's up from 2.2 million last year.  Passenger vehicles will account for 850,000 of those turbocharged engines, up 61% from last year." –USA Today 5-2012

Schenck Trebel Corporation offers two machines for balancing during turbocharger overhaul: TBcomfort and TBsonio. In the first step of overhaul, individual components and the pre-assembled rotor assembly are balanced on the TBcomfort. This is the foundation for the next step - balancing of the complete core assembly (CHRA) on the TBsonio. These machines comply fully with the requirements of the latest Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. Both machines are also equipped with their proven Computer Aided Balancing (CAB) measuring instrumentation. CAB offers technical perfection coupled with simple software design and touch-screen operation.

Schenck Trebel Corporation (STC) is a subsidiary of Schenck Corporation, Deer Park, NY. Its parent company is Carl Schenck AG of Darmstadt, Germany, the world's largest manufacturer of dynamic balancing machines and balancing equipment.  Schenck Trebel Corporation offers a complete range of balancing and vibration analysis equipment and services for the production, maintenance and repair of rotating components.
