XRS Corporation, a manufacturer of mobile fleet optimization software, announced that its Turnpike mobile solution is the official fleet optimization platform for the American Trucking Associations' (ATA) Interstate One truck. This is the first time that the high tech image tractor trailer will use an electronic log. The national public outreach program is designed to educate the public about highway safety and the trucking industry.
XRS Corporation is installing the Turnpike solution in ATA's Interstate One during the ATA Management Conference & Exhibition, October 7-11 in Las Vegas, where the America's Road Team captains will also receive training. Turnpike is a technologically advanced, low-cost, easy-to-install solution that runs on drivers' existing cell phones, smartphones and tablet computers. Turnpike will run on Motorola Xyboard for the America's Road Team Captains. Interstate One's exterior will feature ATA and XRS logos, as well as logos of other premier sponsors.
"We're honored to have America's Road Team Captains use our system," said Christian Schenk, vice president of market development and product marketing at XRS. "Turnpike puts safety and compliance in the palms of drivers' hands using mobile devices, and we're excited that ATA's public image and outreach program recognizes the importance of electronic logs in improving safety on the road."
Interstate One, the ATA Image Trailer, travels the United States visiting State Capitols, high schools, community events and more. The 53-foot custom drop deck show trailer, fully wrapped in an American flag themed graphic, features a mobile conference room with seven projection screens, educational displays and a truck driving simulator.
America's Road Team Captains, elite professional truck drivers with millions of miles of accident-free driving, take a few days each month to meet with the motoring public, the news media, students, transportation officials and government, business and community leaders to demonstrate the trucking industry's commitment to safety and serve as the industry's ambassadors.
"American Trucking Associations is proud to partner with XRS Corporation," said Elisabeth Barna, vice president, image & outreach advocacy at ATA. "Interstate One is used to spread the word across the country about the trucking industry and the industry's commitment to highway safety, so to have this mobile technology that's devoted to safety and compliance for each of the drivers is significant."
