Supports Tech2Win software allowing VCI to emulate Tech2

Bosch's Mastertech VCI (M-VCI) aftermarket scan tool now provides OEM level diagnostics for General Motors vehicles by supporting the General Motors Tech2WIN application. This is a powerful addition to M-VCI's diagnostics capabilities which already boasts of two industry leading aftermarket diagnostics applications – ESI[tronic] 2.0 which provides coverage for European, Korean Vehicles and the award winning Shop Foreman Pro software which provides Asian and Domestic coverage.

"With the addition of Tech2WIN, the Mastertech VCI now combines Bosch's broad aftermarket diagnostic software, access to OEM level diagnostics, and ECU reprogramming, all through one common vehicle interface," said Ravi Subramanyan, Senior Product Manager for Bosch Diagnostics Business Unit.

Tech2WIN is authentic OE General Motors diagnostics software which is coupled with the MDI, or Multiple Diagnostic Interface.  The MDI is an essential tool for General Motors dealerships worldwide. The Bosch M-VCI was developed for the aftermarket using the same base architecture as the MDI.

Tech2WIN provides a virtual environment to allow authentic General Motors Tech 2 diagnostic software to run on a PC. By obtaining a General Motors TIS subscription for Tech2WIN and installing the application, a technician can perform powerful OEM diagnostic functions for powertrain, chassis, and body systems on Cadillac, Buick, GMC, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Saturn, Chevrolet, and Hummer vehicles, including:

  • Read and clear DTCs
  • View data parameters,
  • Operate output controls,
  • Execute system tests

In developing Tech2WIN for the aforementioned makes, General Motors has included diagnostic support for electronic control units which communicate on Class 2 (Circuit 1807), Dual Wire CAN (Circuits 2500 and 2501), and Single Wire CAN (Circuit 5060) multiplexed networks.
