Well-known industry leader William J. “Bill” Hanvey will join the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) as vice president, programs and member services, effective Sunday, Oct. 28. He comes to the association from The Schaeffler Group USA, automotive aftermarket, where he has served as vice president sales and marketing since September 2007.
“Bill is well-known in the aftermarket for his leadership, creativity and passion for the industry,” said Steve Handschuh, president and COO of AASA. “His talents will make him an asset to the AASA senior management team.”
Hanvey’s responsibilities in his new position at AASA will include representing members on critical business issues by generating dialogue, education, planning and execution in alliance with the AASA mission.
“I have worked with Bill for many years in our various roles as industry volunteer leaders,” said Bill Long, AASA executive vice president. “I’ve been impressed by his capabilities and look forward to working with him in this new capacity.”
Prior to his position at Schaeffler, Hanvey was vice president of marketing at Dorman Products Inc. His previous experience also includes marketing and management positions at FleetPride and Tenneco Automotive.
He is active in many automotive aftermarket groups and educational efforts. Hanvey’s industry activities include:

Hanvey earned his B.A. degree in mass communications/public relations from St. Bonaventure University, St. Bonaventure, N.Y.
