ARI, a fleet services provider specializing in complex car and truck fleets, announced it has completed implementation of the cutting-edge SAP HANA platform. ARI is the first fleet management company and one of the first companies worldwide to use SAP HANA, which analyzes millions of data points 3,600 times faster than traditional technologies.
As a vehicle fleet management company, ARI captures hundreds of pieces of information daily for each of the approximately 923,000 cars, trucks and equipment it manages. The SAP HANA in-memory technology provides ARI the ability to process and analyze this Big Data in a fraction of the time it would take other tools, delivering ARI and its clients with the critical insight needed to make impactful business decisions in real time.
"Following our initial meeting with SAP, we quickly realized our partnership and the use of the SAP HANA engine would completely change the way ARI and our clients manage vehicle fleets," said Steve Haindl, senior vice president and CIO, ARI. "This technology allows ARI and our clients to make faster, more informed business decisions by accessing and analyzing critical data in a matter of seconds rather than hours or even days."
With implementation complete, ARI will now focus on optimizing its existing systems to leverage the new platform and developing new products and services that take full advantage of the SAP HANA technology, such as ARIanalytics, a predictive tool that will help fleet managers make smarter, faster business decisions by analyzing data and generating reports in seconds, a task that previously required extended periods of time. ARI also plans to refresh and redesign its internal and client-facing system interfaces to ensure the tools are even more intuitive and easier to use than ever before.
It is hoped that SAP HANA will yield significant bottom-line savings for ARI and its clients by helping to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains, which would translate into lower total cost of ownership and "best in class" fleet operation. ARI anticipates initial introduction of new programs built on this platform to begin later this year, with additional programs and services being introduced throughout 2013 and beyond.
