Cadec Global, which helps companies stay connected to their fleets, announced today that former Qualcomm and XATA executive Tom Flies has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer.
Flies has worked in marketing, business and product development for the past 20 years, and has deep, hands-on experience helping fleet management companies develop innovative products and strategies to help fleets improve efficiency, ensure compliance and increase safety. In his new role, Flies will be responsible for the strategic vision for Cadec's enterprise-class technology solutions, including Marketing, Product Management and Product Development.
Prior to joining Cadec, Flies held roles as Senior Director, Product Management and Business Development for Qualcomm, where he was responsible for driving strategic partnerships, penetrating new markets, and overseeing product management for the Omnitracs division. Previously, Flies held roles as Senior Vice President of Business Development, Product Management and Development at XATA, where he developed new markets, product and partner strategies to drive revenue growth and increase market share. Flies recently served on the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) Research Advisory Board as well as the National Private Fleet Management Institute (NPTC) Board of Governors.
Tom Flies is one of several seasoned executives to join Cadec's management team over the past year. Others include CEO Pete Allen, Senior VP of Sales Angela Shue, VP of Professional Services Carol Bumbaca, and VP Strategic Business Development Joel Jorgenson.
Flies will attend Cadec's Annual User Conference, taking place Sept. 16-18 in Atlanta, and lead a session on Cadec's mobile strategy.
"Cadec's products have already been architected from the ground up for SaaS and mobile environments, without the baggage of legacy architecture," said Flies. "Combined with class leading functionality, Cadec solutions are ideally suited to help Private Fleets reach new levels of productivity. I'm excited to join the Cadec team during this period of rapid growth."
"Cadec is continuing its momentum of adding senior, experienced fleet management professionals to our team so we can bring the best expertise to our customers, whether that's in engineering, customer support, or product innovation," said Pete Allen, CEO. "Tom's experience in product development and strategic partnerships will help Cadec ensure that our solutions continue to meet the compliance, operational efficiency and safety needs of today's enterprise fleets. We are committed to building a stellar team of talent across the board in marketing, business development, engineering, support, and sales to bring the most innovative fleet management solutions to the private fleet market."
