Registration open for AAIA health care law webinar

Oct. 25, 2013
Free webinar to be Nov. 20 at 11 a.m.

The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) is hosting its fourth complimentary, 30-minute, members-only webinar on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. EST on employer and individual mandates, as well as the financial impact of penalties and fees. The webinar will be presented by Anita Baker, managing principal, employee benefit plans, CliftonLarsonAllen LLP. This is the fourth in a series of five webinars being hosted by AAIA this fall on different aspects of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Beginning on Jan. 1, 2014, almost all individuals are required to obtain minimum essential coverage or pay a penalty. Beginning on Jan. 1, 2015, the ACA’s shared responsibility penalties will be assessed on “large” employers (those with 50 or more full-time employees and full-time equivalents) if a full-time employee qualifies for a subsidy and purchases insurance at the state or federal marketplace. This webinar will discuss the individual and large employer mandates and the penalties that will be assessed. Other employer fees affected in 2014 will also be addressed.

Presenter Anita Baker specializes in providing assurance, tax and consulting services to plan sponsors and third-party administrators. She is responsible for CliftonLarsonAllen’s national employee benefit plans practice and is a leading consultant on the impact of health care reform on group health plans and employers.

In addition to this series of webinars, AAIA members have access to more exclusive information on health care reform, and can register for a discounted health insurance and penalty (HIP) report specific to their company via the AAIA website at www.aftermarket.org/healthcare.
