Matco Tools recently awarded the E-Z Red Co. of Deposit on the Delaware, N.Y. the “Supplier of the Year” award within their particular category during the Matco Tools Tool Expo in San Antonio, Texas.
Competing for this coveted award are more than 200 vendors supplying tools and equipment to the mobile tool Industry. Criteria includes customer service, innovative products, new and exclusive products, on-time delivery, promotional offers, interaction with the Matco Supplier Connection website, and interaction with company personnel.
E-Z Red Co. is a family held corporation founded in 1966 by Walter R. “Tommy” Tucker.
Tommy Tucker was an independent wagon jobber 1955 through 1966 in upstate New York. In 1965, he purchased newly designed antifreeze and battery hydrometers from a Canadian retired chemical engineer. These hydrometers were temperature compensating, virtually unbreakable, and EaZy to REaD. (hence the name “E-Z Red”). He became partners with the Canadian and eventually became the world-wide distributor and sole owner of E-Z Red Company USA.
In 1975 his son, Mark Tucker, joined the firm and in 2001 his grandson, Luke Tucker, came on board. In 2011, Bob Cacciabeve joined as an equity partner and executive vice president.
The company supplies tools and equipment to the mobile tool industry as well as the battery industry. Recently E-Z Red has acquired the Caterpillar CAT global branding license for flashlights and work lights.
