The expanded communications capability that provides continuous connectivity for uninterrupted fleet management.

Verizon Networkfleet is now offering Networkfleet Satellite Coverage, an expanded communications capability that provides continuous connectivity for uninterrupted fleet management. Combining cellular and satellite communications, Networkfleet Satellite Coverage is integrated into the Verizon Networkfleet telematics solution and provides GPS location information through a global satellite network to improve driver safety and ensure vehicle tracking in remote areas.

The Networkfleet Satellite Coverage is a dual-mode system that consists of a robust satellite modem that directly connects to the Networkfleet 5000 series GPS tracking device. The system automatically redirects communications to the satellite network for vehicles traveling in remote areas. While in satellite mode, it updates vehicle location every 15 minutes as well as all key on/key off events. During satellite mode, the 5000 series unit stores additional messages, including more frequent tracking updates, vehicle diagnostic trouble codes, and threshold alerts to be transmitted when cellular coverage resumes.

For fleets with vehicles traveling in isolated areas, Networkfleet Satellite Coverage offers uniform and reliable coverage. It is benefits fleets that operate in remote areas and is especially useful in markets such as oil and gas, mining, forest services, park services and for any organization that needs reliable, uninterrupted vehicle tracking.

The Networkfleet telematics solution combines in-vehicle hardware and a web-based application to store, view and analyze data on specific vehicles as well as overall fleet performance. Key features include GPS fleet tracking, asset tracking, fleet maps, vehicle diagnostics with alerts, roadside assistance, preventative maintenance, and other fleet management tools.
