BOLT ON TECHNOLOGY will play a role in improving the processing of car service repairs and parts during CarFest, the annual community charity event held April 5-7 at the Freeman Coliseum Expo Hall in San Antonio.

Promoting unity in the community

CarFest is a three-day charitable event promoting “Unity in the Community” and the automotive industry in San Antonio. Each year, more than 300 community volunteers and auto industry professionals work side-by-side to repair cars for those in need. Since 2016, $1 million in car repairs, trade school scholarships and free cars have been provided at the event. CarFest is sponsored by the Community of Automotive Professionals.

The event is open to the public. The three-day schedule:

  • Friday, April 5, 6 - 10 PM
  • Saturday, April 6, 10 AM - 6 PM
  • Sunday, April 7, 10 AM - 6 PM

CarFest allows charities in San Antonio to nominate residents from the community who have a compelling story about why they need their cars repaired but can’t afford the cost. During the event, 25 repair shops are matched with 25 cars to perform needed repairs. In addition, one car is given away every two hours to the general public. The event also includes BBQ and chili cook-offs, a kid’s corner, Friday Night Lights Cruise-In, New Driver Workshop and more.

New software powers CarFest

In addition to prominent signage throughout the Expo Hall, BOLT ON’s contributing sponsorship will include utilizing their software to power the processing of all repair orders at CarFest, helping to improve workflow and customer service. BOLT ON’s technology will streamline operations, track times and cost and ensure that the right parts are matched to the right cars.

In addition, BOLT ON will provide complimentary digital vehicle inspections using its Mobile Manager Pro software that allows technicians to use tablets to document repair orders with picture and videos and send them real-time via text message to car owners.

"We are so grateful to BOLT ON TECHNOLOGY for becoming a contributing sponsor," said Mark Colaw. CAP/CarFest Chairman of the Board. "Using their Industry Leading Technology and Real-Time Service is already benefitting CarFest shops in and around San Antonio as well as nationwide. We are excited as their software will improve our new format for a smoother final product."

Automating the Automotive Aftermarket

Mike Risich, founder and CEO of BOLT ON TECHNOLOGY, will lead a presentation entitled “Automating the Automotive Aftermarket,” which will educate shop owners about how they can harness the latest technology to quickly and easily improve operations and customer communications in a manner that will increase AROs, car counts and return visits.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to support this event,” Risich said. “CarFest is one of the top charities in the industry. By bringing together automotive repair professionals, community volunteers and sponsors to help those who may not be able to afford repairs, we are helping to ease the burden on the less fortunate of San Antonio. We are honored to participate.”
