DriverDash, a mobile payment solution, is now accepted at thousands of Shell stations.

Shell Oil Products U.S. (Shell), one of the largest branded commercial fleet fuel card providers in the world, in conjunction with WEX Inc., a financial technology service provider, announced the launch of DriverDash, a mobile fuel payment platform, which is now available to the majority of its customers.

“Shell strives to enhance drivers’ time on the road by making their pump-side experience more seamless than ever,” said Rusty Barron, vice president of commercial fleet North America at Shell. “With the addition of DriverDash to all of our 13,000 Shell branded stations across the United States, we’re pleased to now offer fleet drivers a faster, safer, and simpler payment experience.”

DriverDash enables drivers to authorize fuel transactions from inside their vehicles and uses a device’s biometric capabilities to document the purchase electronically, creating a smooth, secure transaction.

“By capturing and tracking fuel payments digitally, fleet managers can benefit from DriverDash by using it to monitor fuel spend, gain enhanced security compared to paying at the fuel pump directly, and boost driver performance by lessening their time off the road,” Barron said.

Since establishing an agreement with WEX in August 2018, Shell has implemented a full range of features, functionality, and solutions needed to meet the everyday demands of a modern fleet. DriverDash is built on the long-standing WEX tradition of creating proprietary solutions in close consultation with business customers to help them control their expenses, mitigate risk, and make smarter spending decisions.

“We’re thrilled to now offer WEX Fleet DriverDash to fleet customers at Shell branded locations, allowing us to service nearly one-third of all fueling locations across the United States,” said Peggy Watson, senior vice president of product and marketing, WEX.

Built internally by WEX developers in Maine, DriverDash can be deployed in minutes by visiting fleetdriverdash.com or via free download from the Apple Store and Google Play Store.
