Tech Tip: Quickly appraising a car for trade-in

Used car managers often want the service department to either have someone on hand late for trade-in appraisal inspections, or they want access to a hoist to perform an undercarriage check after hours. Neither is an ideal solution.

Used car managers often want the service department to either have someone on hand late for trade-in appraisal inspections, or they want access to a hoist to perform an undercarriage check after hours. Neither is an ideal solution, especially for ill-equipped and untrained people lifting a vehicle and walking underneath it.

For shops with the UVeye Artemis and/or Helios automated inspection systems, the systems provide access for the sales managers to perform quick inspections even when service personnel aren’t available. It offers an olive branch between departments that are often at odds, and helps the sales department bring in used cars for reconditioning that aren’t as challenging to get repairs approved on.
