TMCFutureTech 2016 registration is now open

May 11, 2016
The registration deadline is Aug. 15.

Velociti Inc., a global provider of technology deployment services and the exclusive sponsor of TMCFutureTech 2016, announced that registration is open for the third annual National Student Technician Competition. The event, designed to promote career opportunities as heavy truck technicians, will be held in conjunction with the National Technician Skills Competition —TMCSuperTech 2016 — held by American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council during its Fall Meeting and National Technician Skills Competition, September 18-22 in Raleigh, N.C.

“Velociti is proud to continue its exclusive sponsorship of TMCFutureTech because it’s important that we do everything possible to help fleets address the challenge of finding new technicians,” said Deryk Powell, president of Velociti. “Sponsoring TMCFutureTech is our way of supporting the effort to promote career opportunities as heavy-truck technicians at a time when the shortage of technicians at fleets is often overlooked, and is compounded by the need for staff trained to maintain and repair more complex vehicle systems.”

TMCFutureTech, which consists of a set of skill stations for technician students, takes place at the same time as TMCSuperTech for professional technicians. Student winners will be announced at the TMCSuperTech Awards Luncheon during the Council’s 2016 Fall Meeting; the top three winners’ schools will be presented special prizes in March during the Council’s 2017 Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition.

In 2016, Velociti officially recognized the winners of TMCFutureTech 2015, presenting prizes that included gift certificates for tools and other items, and access to an ASE Truck Technician Test prep program. Also presented to the grand champion’s school were tools, supplies, test preparation modules, and a complete transmission for training purposes.

Registration for TMCFutureTech 2016, for a fee of $200, is limited to 80 individuals. The registration deadline is Aug. 15. Go to http://www.velociti.com/TMC-FUTURE-TECH to download a registration form today.
