Peterbilt Technician Institute graduates 75th class
April 2, 2020
Since launching, the PTI program has graduated more than 745 factory-certified technicians and boasts a 95 percent placement rate at a Peterbilt service location.
The Peterbilt Technician Institute (PTI) program celebrated a significant milestone this month with the graduation ceremony of its 75th class of students. The 11 newly certified diesel technicians join a growing list of PTI graduates currently in the workplace at Peterbilt service locations across North America. All PTI students compete a comprehensive 12-week training program led by dedicated Peterbilt instructors with a blend of hands-on and online learning using the latest tools and techniques to diagnose, repair, and maintain Peterbilt’s best-in-class products.
“The Peterbilt dealer network has a growing demand for entry-level, qualified, diesel technicians and PTI is a unique answer to that demand. This is a win-win, as our service centers get qualified technicians and our graduates have the opportunity to turn their initial dealer assignment into a long-term career,” said Brian Brooks, program manager for the Peterbilt Technician Institute.
Since launching, the PTI program has graduated more than 745 factory-certified technicians and boasts a 95 percent placement rate at a Peterbilt service location. Each PTI student earns 13 Peterbilt certifications as well as certifications for both the PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13 engines as they prepare for a career in the diesel industry. PTI is a collaborative program with Universal Technical Institute. For more information on how to become a certified diesel technician through the PTI program, go to uti.edu/pti.
