Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standards (VMRS) provide a standardized language for asset management and service events. Created, managed and licensed by the American Trucking Associations' Technology and Maintenance Council since 1970, these standards simplify and improve communications, ensure more uniform process management, deliver higher quality and more reliable work order and invoices and, ultimately, provide a foundation for more accurate reporting and more useful predictive analytics for all service supply chain participants.
Unfortunately, inconsistent application, limited adoption and misconceptions have limited the standards' broader value. Decisiv discusses how organizations can leverage VMRS benefits with little effort.
