Hyundai oil filter issues

Hynudai claims that some aftermarket oil filters may cause engine knock noise

Hyundai notes that “the use of some aftermarket engine oil filters” is the cause of an engine knock noise. According to their technical service bulletin, aftermarket oil filters may use different materials, construction and specifications than genuine Hyundai oil filters, which may lead to pressure variations with the engine’s oil system, contributing to a knocking noise. According to Hyundai, all models are affected. The recommended solution is to install only a genuine Hyundai filter.
