Fixing Jeep Renegade Errors

This bulletin applies to 2015-2018 Jeep Renegade vehicles. The MIL may be on, accompanied by DTC C1013-49 (half module faulty...internal electronic failure); U1702-64 (electric power steering EPS signal plausibility failure); C1214-87 (conf data code request message...missing message error set in the EPS control unit).

This bulletin applies to 2015-2018 Jeep Renegade vehicles. The MIL may be on, accompanied by DTC C1013-49 (half module faulty...internal electronic failure); U1702-64 (electric power steering EPS signal plausibility failure); C1214-87 (conf data code request message...missing message error set in the EPS control unit).

In addition, one or more of the following may be noticed: A lane assist malfunction/feature not available message displayed in the electronic vehicle information center; lane sense off message while driving, simultaneously turning the lane sense off; power steering system warning lamp is illuminated on the instrument panel cluster.

Reprogram the EPS module with the latest software and clear any DTCs that may have set due to reprogramming. The expected completion time for the flash download of this procedure is about three minutes.
