Owners of 2010-2017 Chevy Equinox vehicles may comment about a loss of power steering assist, a hard-to-steer condition and/or a Service Power Steering message in the DIC (driver information center). This may be due to a blown/failed power steering fuse, which could be a result of improper jump starting.
Locate the electronic power steering fuse and check to determine if the fuse is open (check for continuity using a digital multimeter or continuity tester. If blown, replace the fuse and tighten the fuse fasteners to 44 in-lb.
After the fuse is replaced, install an electrical ground point label, GM P/N 10384767 in the location shown in the accompanying photo.
