April 12, 2023
Some owners of 2015-2019 Chevy Colorado or GMC Canyon vehicles equipped with a 2.5L or 3.6L engine and 6-speed or 8-speed automatic transmission may comment about a leak or noise while driving.

Some owners of 2015-2019 Chevy Colorado or GMC Canyon vehicles equipped with a 2.5L or 3.6L engine and 6-speed or 8-speed automatic transmission may comment about a leak, whining and/or screeching noise from the front of the vehicle during all driving conditions and speeds. The condition may be caused by the vent hose for the front axle being misrouted and kinked. This causes the front axle housing to build up too much pressure, resulting in seal failure.

Properly re-route the vent hose down behind the electronic power steering (EPS) so that it does not make contact with the power steering rubber boot or kink, and replace the front drive axle inner shaft output seals using P/N 23348300.
