Technicians may find DTC P0016 and/or P0018 set after an engine repair of the engine wiring harness on the front right side of the engine. This will be a hard code and will usually cause a rough idle concern.

The cause may be that the wiring connectors for the intake camshaft actuator solenoid bank one on top of the engine, and the connector for the intake actuator park lock solenoid in the front of the engine for bank one have been swapped. These two connectors are identical and can only be identified by wire color in the connector.

Remove the connector and look at the schematic in the service information to compare and ensure that the correct connector is plugged into the actuator and lock solenoid.
