By the end of the Industrial Revolution, motors, engines, mechanized tools and equipment were embedded in every facet of American life. Established in 1929, Universal Lubricants quickly found success as a distributor of high-quality engine lubricants.
Universal Lubricants was founded in Wichita, Kan. to provide compounding, packaging and distribution of quality petroleum products. From generation to generation, Universal oils, greases and other fluids have kept equipment working, motors running, engines turning and machines operating effectively and efficiently from the farm to the industrial park to the family garage. Our product line has extended the life and value of expensive engines and machinery, and kept them running properly for nearly a century.
As that century came to a close, a new emphasis on renewable energy helped drive new services and new technology. In 1998 Universal Lubricants launched the Environmental Services Division, collecting used oil for re-refining and recycling, as well as disposal of contaminated water and other industrial wastes through EPA-approved methods.
Perhaps the most exciting innovation in our industry is the development of re-refined oil. And Universal Lubricants is leading the way. In 2009 Universal opened a state-of-the-art
oil re-refinery where used motor oil is re-refined and blended with compounds to make
ECO ULTRA -- a high-performance recycled motor oil. Bringing the re-refinery online closed the loop on Universal Lubricants' product cycle, offering companies and consumers a new way to meet today’s demands for performance and responsibility.
