Universal Lubricants, a leader in sustainable energy solutions, announced that Cummins Inc. and Detroit Diesel Corporation, global leaders in the design and manufacturer of high-performance engines, have certified that ECO ULTRA CNG/LNG Engine Oil, SAE Grade 15W-40, conforms to the performance specifications required for their natural gas engines. These engines, which reduce emissions, improve fuel economy and decrease maintenance costs, require special, high-performance engine oils.
Cummins has certified that ECO ULTRA CNG/LNG conforms to CES 20074 engine oil specifications and is approved for use in the company's powerful, high-speed natural gas engines. Detroit has approved ECO ULTRA CNG/LNG for use in its Series 50G and 60G engines and certified that it meets DDC Power Guard Oil Specification 93K216.
ECO ULTRA CNG/LNG consists of up to 83 percent re-refined material and is one of the first of its kind on the market. Universal Lubricants relies on used oil as feedstock to its re-refinery that produces top quality Group II sustainable base oil while meeting Original Equipment Manufacturers' (OEM) specifications and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) requirements. Companies that choose ECO ULTRA CNG/LNG can completely eliminate new petroleum products from circulation in their CNG fleets.
"As a company dedicated to both high performance and environmental responsibility, we are pleased to provide a product that enhances the performance of CNG and LNG powered fleets," said John Wesley, Universal Lubricants' CEO. "To be recognized as meeting the extremely high standards set by these leaders in the natural gas market is an important milestone for our company."
